Congress just gave the Executive Branch the power to fill over 3000 positions with no confirmation hearings or oversight from the Senate. What on earth possessed the Republican-controlled House to go along with this scheme?
If the complaint is that the president has too many offices to fill for the senate to confirm them in a timely manner, I have the perfect solution: ELIMINATE ALL THESE BUREAUCRATIC POSITIONS! Our country ran smoothly for over 200 years without all these busybodies in D.C. gobbling up taxpayer money to run our lives.
The solution is NOT to empower the Executive Branch with near dictatorial powers. The solution is to go back to the constitution and get rid of every department, agency and program that doesn’t fall under the limited, enumerated powers therein! Do that, and the senate will have no problem confirming the 5% of presidential appointees that actually have constitutional legitimacy.

As this week ends, members of Congress will be packing their bags and heading home with just one thing on their minds: Getting re-elected in November.
They will be home for the entire month of August for what used to be called “recess” but is now, we hope more aptly, referred to as the “August Work Period.”
No matter how you label it, they’ll be working, alright – working to connect with you, their constituents. Will their work be driven by the desire to win in November? Sure. And that is something that every small-business owner must take advantage of.
There is no better time to contact your Representatives and Senators than this month. They know that you are a voter and, as a business owner, that you are a leader in your community. They realize that your view can have an impact on a lot of other voters.
There are a number of ways you can reach out and make your elected officials accountable – from calling their district or state office to attending a town-hall meeting or parade – but the approach I recommend most strongly is inviting members of Congress to actually visit your business. Contact information for Arkansas elected officials is listed under our Contact Information tab above. Extend your invitation….TODAY!

The Arkansas Legislature can only send up to three legislative referrals to the ballot each election year. Three statewide ballot questions have been certified for the Arkansas 2012 ballot.
Temporary Sales Tax Amendment The measure proposes a temporary half-cent sales tax with revenue going toward the state highway system. Legislatively-referred constitutional amendment Full Text
Highway Funding Amendment The measure would create a five-cent tax on diesel fuel with revenue going toward the state highway system. Legislatively-referred constitutional amendment Full Text
Retail Project Amendment The measure would give counties and municipalities the authority to create special economic districts and issue bonds for retail projects. Legislatively-referred constitutional amendment Full Text
You can click on Full Text to get a complete explanation of the Amendment. Be prepared though as it takes politicians a ridiculous number of pages per Amendment to justify their intentions whereas you and I could probably do so in one page.
Bad politicians are sent to Washington
by good people who don’t vote!
Our country is in desperate trouble. If you don’t feel better off today that you did in 2008, go to the polls and vote for a change, if not for yourself then for the future of your children and grand children.
Not voting because you don’t like either candidate is a cop out! If you aren’t aware of what the Obama administration has done and is doing to our country read some of our articles, then VOTE to save our nation!

The latest web ad from Barack Obama’s campaign goes after Mitt Romney for not releasing more tax returns than he already has. The ad, titled “Mitt Romney’s Tax Returns: When Will He Come Clean?,” at one point flashes two words onscreen, “FELONS” and “TAX RECORDS.”
Are we really supposed to be more outraged by what Mitt Romney does with his money than by what Barack Obama does with ours?
When will Obama and his so-called “Truth Team” come clean with all of the sealed records of his past… birth records, college records, stolen social security number, selective service records, lies and corruption, violations of the Constitution? We are still waiting!
What gives Obama the right to point the finger. He’s about as transparent as a sheet of aluminum foil. Obama should not even be allowed on the 2012 ballot until he “comes clean!”
Mitt Romney should quit being Mr. Nice Guy and start demanding the hidden records from Obama…TODAY!!!

Over the years, I’ve used Amazon to purchase a few items, mostly movies, books or software. However, those days are over as I place Amazon in the list with J.C. Penney, Target, Sears, Home Depot, General Mills and Starbucks.
I knew Amazon lacked moral standards because of some of the merchandise it sold. A friend of mine had gotten a job at the local Amazon distribution warehouse. After a few short weeks, he quit because of all of the pornography he was packing to ship to people all over the nation.
The final straw for Amazon came yesterday when I read about Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and his wife Mackenzie donating $2.5 million to help pass a measure on the November ballot to legalize same-sex marriage.
William, Paul and James Newland and their sister, Christine Ketterhagen, who together own Hercules Industries, have no right to conduct their family business in a manner
that comports with their Catholic faith.
The Newland family owns and operates Hercules Industries, a Colorado-based corporation that manufactures heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. Through their hard work and dedication, and through their willingness to reinvest their own money in building their family business, they have managed to create jobs for 265 people while exerting a positive influence on the communities they serve.
The Newlands believe the morality the Catholic faith teaches them must animate their lives not only within the walls of the churches they attend, but literally everywhere else,
as well — in the way they deal with their families, their neighbors and, yes, their business.
The Newlands sued to protect their free exercise of religion in this regard because Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius issued a regulation, under the Obamacare law, that requires virtually all health care plans to cover — without cost-sharing — sterilizations, artificial contraception and abortifacients.
The federal government can and will compel them to either surrender their business or to engage in activities the Catholic faith teaches are intrinsically immoral. This is exactly what President Barack Obama’s Justice Department told a U.S. district court in a formal filing last week.
Never before has an administration attempted to strip Americans of the freedom of conscience — a right for which, over the centuries, many Christian martyrs have laid down their lives, and which our Founding Fathers took great care to protect in a First Amendment that expressly guarantees the free exercise of religion.
What do you say we “REPEAL OBAMACARE, IMPEACH THIS PRESIDENT AND DISSOLVE HIS ENTIRE ADMINISTRATION!!!”

From Citizens Against Government Waste
America’s #1 Taxpayer Watchdog
(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) named House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas (R-Okla.) and Ranking Member Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) its July 2012 Porkers of the Month for sponsoring the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act (FARRM). Like its counterpart in the Senate, FARRM is a massive waste of taxpayer dollars at a time of record profits for farmers, maintains the command-and-control system that has been in place for decades, and falls far short of the $180 billion in savings for the Farm Bill that was included in the House-passed budget resolution. The bill would reduce Farm Bill spending to $957 billion over ten years, a difference of $35.1 billion and a paltry savings of 3.5 percent.
“Recent arguments urging the farm bill’s immediate passage due to droughts across the country should be ignored,” said CAGW President Tom Schatz. “Taxpayer-subsidized crop insurance prevents those farmers who have enrolled from losing more than 15 percent of their expected revenue, and a raft of private options, such as hedging, forwarding, and diversification, remain available.
Further, the farm bill covers much more than farm supports, as evidenced by the fact that 79 percent of farm bill expenditures go to food stamps. Republicans may help Democrats spend $756 billion on food stamps over the next 10 years. Is that what this Congress was elected to do? Lock in Obama’s legacy of 1 in 7 Americans being on food stamps?
Passing a bad farm bill will not end the drought, but will do a great deal of damage to future food and farm policy.”
